Carnival Corp. & plc said it anticipates more than half of its fleet to resume passenger service by the end of October, and almost all of it would be transporting passengers by New Year’s Day.
Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, P&O Cruises (UK), and Cunard are the company’s eight cruise line brands that have resumed passenger sailings. P&O Cruises Australia is the eighth brand that has yet to restart operations.

By the end of October, those eight brands hope to have 42 ships under their control.
The following is a list of which airlines have resumed passenger service.
—Carnival Cruise Line intends to launch 13 ships in October, with a total of 17 ships by the end of the year.
—Princess intends to launch six ships in October, with a total of eight ships on the water by the end of the year.
—Holland America Line intends to put four ships into service in October, with a total of six ships in service by the end of the year. In addition, the company said that all 11 ships in its fleet would be operational by spring 2022.
—By spring 2022, Seabourn expects to have its whole six-ship fleet operational, including a new adventure ship that will make its first voyage in April 2022.
—By the end of the year, Costa expects to have five ships in service, with a total of six ships.
—AIDA, a German cruise line, intends to launch eight ships in October and two more by December 31.
—In October, P&O Cruises (UK) will have three ships in service, with another by the end of the year. By spring 2022, the brand intends to run all five ships.
—By the end of the year, Cunard expects to have two ships back in operation, with a third ship returning in spring 2022.
The company’s brands are gradually restarting operations, with sailings from ports in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Western Europe, and the Mediterranean, among others.
The cruises follow improved procedures that were established in collaboration with government and health officials. This involves operating with fully vaccinated passengers and up-to-date testing and masking procedures that adhere to the most recent guidelines.
