Carnival Cruise Line is restarting guest operations on its first fantasy-class ship, the Carnival Vista. The company has decided to offer cruises again following a six-month hiatus due to Hurricane Irma.

The Carnival Elation is the first cruise ship of the Fantasy-Class to restart service. Cruises to the Bahamas and the Eastern Caribbean are available from the ship’s homeport at Port Canaveral.
It’s another another plus for the Miami-based cruise company, which operates more than half of its fleet in the United States. Despite being one of the oldest ships in the Carnival fleet, the Carnival Elation remains a strong favorite among many Carnival Cruise Line enthusiasts. She is a pleasant sight in Port Canaveral after being on hold since March 2020.

It’s finally time for Carnival Elation to depart from her homeport of Port Canaveral, after twelve Carnival cruise ships had set sail in the past several months. Five of the eight original Fantasy-class ships in the Carnival fleet are still in service. The Carnival Elation, which was constructed in 1998, is the first of the five ships to set sail. Carnival Elation cruises to Nassau in the Bahamas and then to Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, which is a famous Carnival cruise destination. Following each port stop, guests will be able to spend a day at sea. On October 16, she will return to Port Canaveral, from where she will embark on a Bahamas trip.
The ship will travel between the Eastern Caribbean and the Bahamas, stopping at famous destinations such as Princess Cays, Nassau, and Resorts World Bimini.
The 71,909 gross ton cruise ship, which was built in Helsinki, Finland in 1998, has a passenger capacity of 2,130 passengers and a crew of 920. When the Carnival Elation became the first cruise ship in history to sail with Azipod propulsion, which is now virtually common, she set a world record.

Onboard the Carnival Elation, there is a focus on health and safety.
Guests aboard the Carnival Elation will be expected to adhere to certain basic health and safety standards, dubbed the Have Fun by the cruise company. Follow the Be Safe guidelines. Aside from that, all passengers aged 12 and above must be completely vaccinated 14 days before to the cruise with an authorized vaccine or vaccination combination, and there are additional testing criteria that passengers must meet prior to sailing.
Guests who have been granted a vaccination exemption must provide proof of a negative PCR test. Guests who have been completely vaccinated must provide evidence of immunization and submit to a quick antigen test or PCR test at least two days prior to the commencement of the trip.
Carnival Cruise Line has stated that it would continue to offer vaccinated passengers sailings until February 2022.
The Port of Canaveral is becoming more crowded.
Each week, Port Canaveral becomes busier as more and more ships resume their voyages. Carnival Elation, Carnival Magic, and, of course, Mardi Gras are the three Carnival Cruise Line ships that are currently sailing from the port.

Carnival Magic has been in service for quite some time, with her maiden voyage taking place on August 7, 20211. The ship, which has already received the new Carnival livery, will sail Bahamas and Caribbean trips until May of next year, when she will reposition to Norfolk and then New York City.

The other Carnival ship, which departs from Canaveral, is one of the year’s most popular cruise ships. Since her first voyage on July 31, the Mardi Gras has been fully operational. Week-long Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises are available aboard the ship.
