19 May 2021, ZAGREB – In July, the Italian pop-opera group Il Volo will play on the summer stage in Opatija, Croatia.
As part of their The Best of 10 Years global tour, baritone Gianluca Ginoble and two tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto will perform in Opatija on July 4, 2021.
The trio represented Italy in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing third after winning the Sanremo Music Festival. In 2010, their first album, Il Volo, reached the top ten on the Billboard 200 and topped the Classical Albums list.
Other nations where the album charted in the top 10 were Belgium, France, Germany, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. They were nominated for two Latin Grammy Awards for the album.
They have now released five more studio albums, collaborating with artists such as Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti.
Il Volo released their compilation album, Il Volo: The Best of 10 Years, in November to commemorate their tenth anniversary. The Opatija performance, which was supposed to happen in 2020 as part of their global tour, was canceled due to the pandemic.
