Saint Lucia’s Coconut Bay is the most underrated Caribbean resort. The island has a lot of things to offer, including great beaches and an amazing food scene.
Located in the Caribbean, Saint Lucia is known for its lush tropics and rich culture. Its Coconut Bay resort offers a unique getaway with breathtaking views of the ocean under one roof. Learn why this small island has so many visitors yet maintains an authentic feel
“Welcome to Saint Lucia!” said our transfer van’s pleasant young driver at Hewanorra International Airport. “The travel from here to Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa will take roughly one hour!” he calmly said after placing our baggage into the minivan and climbing into his seat.
It was all in good fun. Depending on local traffic, the travel from the airport to the premium all-inclusive resort takes about five to seven minutes.
That implies that tourists may immediately relax on the resort’s mile-long beachfront after passing customs and immigration and producing a negative COVID-19 test result upon admission (as required by Saint Lucia standards).
Coconut Bay’s closeness to the airport is only one of the lesser-known features of this 450-guest all-inclusive resort, which is probably the Caribbean’s most underestimated. Coconut Bay can accommodate families, couples, wedding parties, and groups of friends, yet even when the 85-acre property is at or near capacity, it never seems crowded.
It’s possible that calling Coconut Bay undervalued is an exaggeration. The resort has won several awards, including a TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for 2021.
Coconut Bay, on the other hand, does not seem to be constantly featured among the Caribbean’s top resorts. One explanation might be the fierce rivalry even inside Saint Lucia, where renowned boutique hotels compete with big all-inclusive chains.
In any event, Coconut Bay’s strong visitor retention rate and the rising popularity of the Serenity at Coconut Bay wing among luxury tourists attest to the resort’s prestigious standing in the Caribbean. The following is a review of the resort:
The adults-only Harmony section of Coconut Bay is a peaceful haven with palm-fringed pools and a thatched-roof outdoor bar, as well as sun terraces for two with huge beach chairs overlooking the sluggish blue seas.
The Atlantic Ocean and the Maria Islands may be seen from the concierge junior ocean view suites. Junior suite ocean view, concierge premium ocean view, premium ocean view, deluxe ocean view, and deluxe garden view rooms are among the other options.
All rooms include mini-refrigerators filled with water, soft drinks, and local beer, as well as stocked bars with customizable beverage selections. Private VIP check-in and resort orientation are among the concierge services available, as are off-property meals, tours, and spa appointments.
The Splash part of Coconut Bay caters to families with bright beachfront accommodations that overlook CocoLand, the resort’s water park. The rooms here include walk-in showers, sitting spaces, and family-friendly options including king and twin queen beds, as well as two-bedroom connected accommodations.
Within a hotel, there is a hotel within a hotel. The Serenity at Coconut Bay suites provide seclusion, as well as luxurious amenities, facilities, and services, such as private in-suite check-in and check-out. Plunge pools, handcrafted mahogany king beds, and enormous soaking tubs with separate rain showers are included in Serenity’s 36 private suites.

AREAS THAT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
With towering slides, a big pool, a kid’s water playground, and a lazy river, the CoCoLand water park, advertised as Saint Lucia’s largest, entices water-loving visitors (equally popular with adults as with kids).
The Kidz Klub, a neighboring facility with a water feature, a large pirate ship, and air-conditioned interior playrooms, is a fully supervised facility.
The glass-walled workout facility at Coconut Bay overlooks gorgeous gardens and the ocean. There are four premium lighting tennis courts on the site, as well as four basketball courts that are also lit for night play. The beach in Coconut Bay has become a favorite site for international kite surfers, and the beachside Surf Shack facility offers tuition for both beginners and expert kite surfers.
Signature organic treatments are offered in indoor and outdoor, ocean-view massage rooms with outdoor showers at the indoor-outdoor Kai Mer Spa. Aquacise courses and volleyball games are held in Coconut Bay’s Activities Pool (one of five pools on the site).
At the property’s seaside gazebo, yoga and Pilates lessons are held among the soothing sounds of the waves. Daily trips up Quarry Hill are available for guests, who may enjoy 360-degree island vistas and picture opportunities.
The nine restaurants in Coconut Bay provide à la carte and buffet meals in indoor, outdoor, and oceanfront settings. A la carte restaurants Silk, Calabash, and The Greathouse all need reservations. Menus and cuisine alternatives are changed on a regular basis.
Silk offers dishes blended with Saint Lucian ingredients from Thailand, India, Japan, and China. With a high position with coastal views, the Jerk Treehouse actually elevates customers to new heights.
Fresh-baked side dishes are complemented with fresh-squeezed sugar cane juice and coconut water, while featured Caribbean hog and chicken cuisine is drenched in a secret spicy jerk sauce. Seaside is a laid-back, family-friendly outdoor restaurant that serves sharing Italian fare. Calabash serves a modern Caribbean meal that combines creole and Latin influences.

Coconut Bay provides excursions to practically all of Saint Lucia’s top sites, from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Piton Mountains to the adjacent Sulfur Springs, all of which may be organized and tailored on-site.
You don’t want to go too far? Choose an unique tour to Maria Major, a 25-acre deserted offshore island with native bird and (harmless) reptile species. Guests may join guided excursions given by nationally qualified naturalists and relax for a few hours on the island’s beautiful white-sand beach.
