The world is becoming a more confident place to travel, with the Traveler Confidence Index (TCI) reaching its highest level in three years.
The travel survey 2021 is a study that was conducted by Travel Again. It found that the traveler confidence index has risen for business and leisure travelers.
Travelers are recovering their trust in travel following two months of decreasing confidence due to the spread of the Delta variation globally, according to new monthly data from September’s Traveler Confidence Index.
Travel Again developed the Traveler Trust Index in order to restore worldwide confidence in travel and help it recover from the epidemic. The scale for the Index runs from 1 to 5, with 5 being the greatest level of traveler confidence and indicating that people are eager to travel right now, and 1 representing the lowest level of travel confidence. The data is divided into two categories in the Index: business travel and leisure travel.

What’s Hot Right Now
The future of business travel is bright, according to business travelers. By the end of next year, two-thirds (or 67.2 percent) think they will be traveling as much as they did this year, while one in ten say they will never travel as much as they did for business. The rest think it will take longer to recover, perhaps until 2023 or 2024.
Furthermore, business travelers are becoming more confident about traveling for work, with 33.6 percent saying that they are ready to go today, up 10 percent from last month.
Since the past two months, the Traveler Confidence Index has been increasing. Business traveler confidence increased from 3.30 in August to 3.66 in September, while leisure traveler confidence increased from 3.43 to 3.49. While all passengers are worried about traveling during a pandemic, this number indicates that they would still go.
In May 2021, traveler confidence in both categories hit an all-time high.
“Business travelers recognize the significance of company travel in promoting business development, so it’s no surprise that many plan to travel as often as they did before the epidemic,” said Mike McCormick, co-founder of Travel Again. “While some pessimists predict massive permanent drops in business travel, it’s more likely that businesses are in a competitive détente—while they may all be saving money on travel costs right now, once one competitor resumes previous levels of travel, others will follow suit to avoid being left behind.”
